RETURN TO SELF Paperback JOURNAL

An Unfiltered Journey Back to Yourself

A Guided Journaling Experience for the Woman Who Has Spent Too Long Taking Care of Everyone Else

You've been the responsible one for as long as you can remember.

The dependable one.

The strong one.

The one who always figures it out.

The one everyone turns to when they need advice, support, comfort, or a solution.

Somewhere along the way you abandoned yourself.

You carry the emotional weight.

You remember the details.

You hold everything together.

You show up for everyone else without hesitation.

But when it comes to showing up for yourself?

That's where things get complicated.

You struggle to say no.

You know what your boundaries should be, but enforcing them feels uncomfortable.

You feel guilty when you rest.

You worry about disappointing people.

You put pressure on yourself to get everything right.

You hold yourself to impossible standards.

You take pride in being capable, yet secretly wish someone would take care of you for a change.

You can easily identify what everyone else needs, but when someone asks what you need, you're not always sure how to answer.

And somewhere along the way, you became so focused on everyone else's expectations that you lost touch with your own voice.

If this feels familiar, you're not alone.

Many women learn early in life that being needed feels safer than having needs.

So they become the caretaker.

The peacekeeper.

The achiever.

The perfectionist.

The empath.

The one who keeps going no matter how exhausted they feel.

But constantly being everything for everyone else comes at a cost.

And that cost is often yourself.

That's exactly why I created the Return To Self Journal.

What If The Problem Isn't That You're Not Doing Enough?

What if you've been carrying too much for too long?

Too much responsibility.

Too much pressure.

Too much emotional labor.

Too much people-pleasing.

Too much perfectionism.

Too much proving.

Many women have built their identity around being helpful, productive, reliable, and strong.

But beneath the constant doing is often a deeper longing:

To feel connected to yourself again.

To know what you need.

To trust your own voice.

To stop abandoning yourself in order to keep everyone else comfortable.

The Return To Self Journal was created to help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been buried beneath expectations, obligations, responsibilities, and the constant habit of putting yourself last.

Introducing the Return To Self Journal:

The Return To Self Journal is a guided journaling experience for the woman who wants everything in one place.  no accompanying notebook is needed since this paperback journal has ample blank space for you to journal for each prompt.

It is designed to help you slow down, tune inward, and build a deeper relationship with yourself through intentional self-reflection.

Inside you'll discover 64 carefully crafted journal prompts designed to help you:

  • Explore patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, and over-responsibility
  • Process emotions you've been suppressing, avoiding, or carrying alone
  • Recognize where you've been abandoning yourself to keep the peace
  • Strengthen self-awareness and self-trust
  • Identify your needs without guilt
  • Cultivate self-compassion instead of self-criticism
  • Reconnect with the person beneath the roles you've spent years carrying

This isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about returning to the person you've always been.

Why This Journal Is Different:

There's nothing wrong with gratitude.

But healing cannot happen when we're not being honest with ourselves.

Many journals focus on positive thinking and gratitude. While those practices have their place, they can sometimes encourage us to bypass the emotions that need our attention the most.

The truth is:

You can be grateful and still feel exhausted.

You can love your family and still need boundaries.

You can appreciate your life and still feel overwhelmed.

You can be successful and still feel disconnected from yourself.

The Return To Self Journal was created as a space for honesty.

A space where you don't have to perform positivity, suppress your emotions, or pretend everything is okay.

Because healing begins when we're willing to acknowledge what's true.

This journal isn't about finding the right answers.

It's about creating the space to hear your own truth.

A Note From Me:

Julie Jamison

I created the Return To Self Journal because I know what it's like to lose yourself in responsibility.

To be the caretaker.

The over-achiever.

The perfectionist.

The one who always has it together.

Journaling became the place where I stopped asking what everyone else needed from me and started asking what I needed from myself.

The prompts inside this journal were born from that journey.

My hope is that they help you reconnect with yourself, trust yourself, and remember that your needs matter too.

Because you deserve to be more than the person everyone depends on.

You deserve to know yourself.

You deserve to choose yourself.

You deserve to return to yourself.

Imagine What Could Change If You:

• trusted yourself again

• knew what you needed without second-guessing it

• rested without guilt

• set boundaries without feeling selfish

• made decisions based on what feels true for you instead of what keeps everyone else happy

• showed yourself the same compassion you've spent years giving everyone else

That journey begins with one honest page.

One honest answer.

One honest conversation with yourself.

What happens after I purchase?

Your journal is made to order and typically arrives within 8–10 business days to the address provided during checkout.

You'll receive tracking information as soon as your journal ships.

How long does it take to complete the journal?

The Return to Self Journal was designed as a 31-day practice.

Each day, you'll be guided through a journaling prompt and encouraged to spend a few minutes honestly exploring whatever thoughts, emotions, or insights arise.

Most people find that setting aside 15–30 minutes per day for journaling, followed by 10 minutes of meditation, silence, Yin Yoga, or another calming practice, creates a meaningful and sustainable rhythm.

That said, this isn't about rushing to the finish line (I'm talking to my over achievers!). If a particular prompt feels especially powerful, give yourself permission to spend extra time with it before moving on.

The goal isn't to complete the journal as quickly as possible—it's to return to yourself, one day at a time.

What if I feel resistance to a prompt or don't know how to answer it?

This is a normal part of the process, which is why I included a section to help you move through resistance so that you'll feel supported.

You may find yourself wanting to skip a prompt, distract yourself, close the journal, or convince yourself that a particular question doesn't apply to you.

Pause for a moment and get curious.

Ask yourself:

"What is it about this prompt that feels uncomfortable?"

Sometimes resistance is simply a sign that you've touched on an emotion, belief, memory, or truth that hasn't had much space to be acknowledged.

You don't need to force yourself to write pages and pages. Start with one sentence. Write down what you're feeling in that moment—even if it's:

"I don't want to answer this question."

"I have no idea what to write."

"This prompt makes me uncomfortable."

Often, the act of being honest about your resistance is where the journaling begins.

Move at a pace that feels supportive, but don't be surprised if the prompts that create the most resistance are also the ones that offer the greatest insight & breakthroughs.

What makes this journal different from other journals?

Many journals focus on gratitude, goal setting, or daily reflection.

The Return to Self Journal was created to help you explore the thoughts, emotions, fears, frustrations, beliefs, and desires that often remain unspoken.

Its purpose is to create space for radical honesty and deeper self-awareness.

This is why affirmations and trying to manifest without doing any of the shadow work: going deep and excavating, just doesn’t work.

How can we invite in sustainable joy when our bodies are filled with rage, shame, sadness, grief, etc.?

What if difficult emotions come up while journaling?

This is completely normal.

Many people spend years avoiding certain thoughts, feelings, memories, or experiences. If strong emotions arise, consider taking a break and supporting yourself with a calming practice such as meditation, silence, gentle movement, Yin Yoga, or a mindful walk.

Remember, you don't need to force anything.

Are refunds available?

Unfortunately, refunds are not available.

Is this journal for beginners?

Yes.  In fact, it's for all levels.

You don't need any previous journaling experience to benefit from this journal. The prompts are designed to guide you through the process one question at a time.

Simply show up, be honest, and begin where you are.
